Anyway in honour of me swapping my first lot of money to $US today I thought I would blog about my upcoming trip to NYC! ... ok its ages away and not until May but thats irrelevant.
I think I have mentioned my family are really creative before and my Aunt really is an incredible artist. She has been invited to exhibit in New York so I am going to go see! Couldnt' be more excited or proud of her and so glad I can share the moment. I dont think I can post anything from the exhibition but here is some of her handywork.
Amazing huh?
Also....SHOPPING!!!!
I have made a deal with myself that I can buy one expensive bag then all the clothes have to be reasonable. I have been pining over neutral bags for months trying to find the perfect fit and I thought the Chloe Paraty below was the one.
But Chanel have gone neutral bag crazy and I always kind of feel that they are more staying power but you know the outlay is bigger. So I am torn. Below are some of my fav ones.
So I am putting it out there...which bag do people in blogland prefer?
Oooooo I love all the chanel bags. Tough decision you have there. How exciting you're going to New York!! One of my besties went last year and she LOVED it. She shopped till she literally DROPPED!
ReplyDeleteI feel guilty when I neglect my blog... I hardly blogged last week as it was simply way too hot and I had no outfit inspiration. And I didn't keep up with my fave blogs either. Trying to catch up now. :)
The Chloe!!! I love a classic flap, but only in classic black. If it was me, I think over time I might regret not getting a black Chanel, and I would hate myself if it ever got stained. :/ I am IMMENSELY jealous that your going to NYC :( :( :(
ReplyDeleteYay for NYC, Shannon!
ReplyDeleteI think for a beige, neutral bag, the Chloe is more rugged and suits the colour better than say the Chanels.
For some reason, all my neutral coloured bags get the stuffing knocked out of them from being overused. The tougher leathers like the Chloe's tend to wear this with more grace than the Chanels.
But I LOVE Chanel too. Gee, I'm useless...

I hope you get to have a lot of fun when you go to NY!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for which bag? I'm going to go with SSG with regards to Chloe being tougher than Chanel.
I think Chanel's quality has gone significantly downhill in the last couple of years, so I wouldn't really trust any of their bags to hold up as well as a Chloe if they were to be used every day. If you're looking to buy a bag that'll be worn every day I'd say Chloe, but if you're looking for a bag for special occasions and you're the kind of person who goes easy on their bags then go with the Chanel.
:)
yay glad to see you back hun! My vote is definitely for the Chloe xxx
ReplyDeleteYay, how exciting that you're going to NY! Ahh I just love it, so jealous!
ReplyDeleteAs for my pick, I'd go with the Chloe. The Paraty is gorgeous and very classic.
xx
So jealous of your NYC trip! Both bags are gorgeous, I have been lusting over that chloe bag as well. I think I like the chloe better in that color.
ReplyDeleteOr you could just blow it all on faux-vintage t-shirts in Brooklyn. That's what all the cool kids do.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the Chloe and being such a neutral bag it would certainly have staying power too.

I'm going to NY in June and I am toying with the idea of a designer bag purchase too! My pick is definitely the Chloe... for myself I am thinking either the Paraty or the Marcie. But I'm not a big Chanel fan, too many knock-offs.
ReplyDeletecute post!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOUR STYLE!!!!

I'm a diehard Chanel fan so I vote for the Chanel one (in black).
ReplyDeleteBut I do prefer the Chloe one in tan
Decisions decisions =)
Bottom left bag pour moi! I love neutral bags- they go with everything, so pretty XXX
ReplyDeleteOoo I am definitely partial to the Chanel... ;) In my opinion, if you have an opportunity to buy a Chanel, I say just go to town with it and don't look back! I really love the cream bag on the bottom left especially.
ReplyDeleteYour aunt is a phenomenal artist! That painting is breath-taking... actually- and I am telling you the truth- when I first saw it, I thought it was a photograph. Then I read your blurb, and I looked a second time, and saw it was a painting!!!!! So beautiful, and congratulations to her on her exhibition.
